That was a lie.
I lied.
They aren't.
Fuck my life.
On the plus side, I replaced two of my indicator lamps with LEDs.
Before
After
It's an odd color due to the pure white LEDs and the amber tinted plastic, but I quite like how it's instant-on and instant-off.

The car was literally screaming at me the whole time because I had to have the car turned to "run" (but not running) while I did this so I could shift in and out of gear because THE DAMN COLUMN BLOCKS EVERYTHING
Oh also: lol hell no fuck chrysler

Did this while repairing a HUD in a C5 vette. At least it was a targa top so we could get vertical leverage, I feel for ya though dude.

On the Escort I had to take the cluster out in three pieces because it didn't have a tilt column.

My old S-10 required two hours to change out the side rear view mirror. A '01 Ford Focus? Ten minutes. My old S-10 also required three layers of dash to be removed to replace one of those metal small cylinders that regulate blinkers. F-you GM, you dirty pirate hooker!

I don't want to think how annoying it is to take out my photochromatic electronic this and that wing mirrors.

They're probably not that bad, it's getting to the bolts that hold them on the door that's the nightmare. The arm rest comes off, the door panel comes off, another cover of some kind comes off. then it unhooks from the wiring, etc.....that was the S-10 procedure. Take apart the door first then we have access to the part! That's GM's whole process. Make the part that breaks positioned underneath three layers of stuff that never breaks.

*laughs because the whole face of the dash in GMT800 trucks is held in with nothing but metal clips*
And all the screws underneith are easily accessible.
You do have to have the shifter all the way down to take the face off.

Does everybody have this screwdriver?

Yeah, I had to lift up that huge dash pad a bit just to get the gauges back in, and in the process a piece of the clear plastic (thankfully hidden behind the frame) off, and now several of the backlights (which are not replaceable) aren't working. Brilliant

I took me nearly 5 hours to put on and off my dash to *try* to fix my rear defrost for which you have to remove the entire dash and bezel, broke a bunch of shit and still couldn't do it because we got the wrong part.

Yeah, everything is now more broken than it was. Yay.

You should try a saturn ion nothing but plastic clips like a snap together model,
on a related note the at least one of the clips usually breaks
